If you haven't seen MATRIX REVOLUTIONS yet, but plan to see it, don't read the rest of this.

as for my opinion, i was just glad the trilogy finally came to an end, but also slightly disappointed that it wasn't as great an ending to it as i'd expect.

mainly what i was thinking about the trilogy was tru... it wasn't an epic on judeo-christian beliefs, as some may think... but it actually turned out to be something more like a futuristic take on the plight of the buddhists in tibet and their tantric ideologies

think about it

like tibetan buddhism, the matrix is seen as a stream of conciousness.

the world is set up with souls with a purpose, and opposite souls to counteract to what the first souls do, and try to balance things out. if it were all balanced, there would be no earth, but a group of eternal souls who have found enlightenment

look at it this way

the machines are seen as the rest of the world (ie. world=machines)

buddhists wishing to free themselves of the world and avoid being taken over are like zion (ie. zion=tibet)

agent smith is gradually trying to take control of it all against the wishes of both the machines and the humans (ie. agent smith = communist china)

as china was once free before communist rule, the buddhist trend was in full fledge throughout the nation, but in this stream of conciousness, something was needed to still counteract it. hence the communist occupation of china, forcing the buddhists to flee and take refuge in tibet. henceforth, agent smith being created to counterattack the human uprising, causing them to flee to tibet.

the machines and sentinels can be seen as the rest of the world, or the stream of conciousness (take it in what sense thou wilt)with different beliefs trying to forget the plight to "free tibet" and whatnot. nonetheless, the programmed agentsmith/communism had to be created to balance the buddhist ways.

now here's where it get's interesting

look at the architect as the united states, trying to make the world a better place, but fucking up over and over again, causing them to start wars and begin from new

the dalai lama is the oracle, he knows he will find a chosen one, although he is not it, nor will he tell the chosen one, for the chosen one will figure it out themselves

still with me?

the people in zion are the buddhists in exile living in tibet, making a plea for a "free tibet" to the rest of the world.

so in this instance, with the tibetan buddhist beliefs, a chosen one will eventually be found (neo) and this will lead to a massive buddhist following creating what they believe will be a full stream of concioussness, and the acts of the rest of the world will be revealed.

hence the americans (machines) will try to put this to a stop and give the go ahead for an agent smith (china) to take over tibet (the americans will just look the other way)

problem is, this chosen one will have massive followings (kinda like john lennon did before he was killed) and reveal the bad ways of the world, but china will have no one to control it, as buddhists followers will begin riot acts with the americans who have no way of looking after things now, so in the meantime, china decides to do what it wants and just go crazy (hence agent smith multiplying)

WW3

with the buddhist uprisings around the world, this "chosen one" will approach the eternal souls (machine city), spiritually, and come to conclusion by stating that if agent smith (china) can be brought to a stop and zion (tibet) can be free of fear from attack by actions of the machines (america) working side by side with zion and coming to no bloodshed, the world can be shared and the treat will be defeated.

in my view, looks like the eternal souls will find a way to wipe out the republicans (sentinels) and the world will be a happy place. this action by the chosen one (neo) will lead him to reaching enlightenment, and he too shall perish in the real world to live as one amongst the eternal souls

that's just my take on it

i need a beer
