I'm not saying it's right. However....
Denmark, to the best of my knowledge, is not a predominantly Islamic country. A political cartoonist from that nation ends up drawing a picture of Muslim prophet Mohammed, with his turban transformed into a bomb.
Mayhem ensues.
This is quite the delicate topic. I do pose one question though:
What if this had never happened?
What if, instead... let's say Iran, which to the best of my knowledge, is not a predominantly Christian nation; had its own political cartoonist, and he just so happened to draw a picture of Jesus Christ carrying the cross, which just so happened to be transformed into a rocket-propelled grenade launcher?
How would we all react then?

i think i'd have to be in some way religious to answer that question.
i'd probably react like this:
"fuck man - hand me the sunday funnies. this isn't a cartoon. where are the talking bubbles??"
